Rodrigo Cortés Lobos

Rodrigo Cortes-Lobos is a Technology Transfer Manager at the Advanced Mining Technology Center (AMTC), where he has been working for over 10 years. He is responsible for managing the technology assets, licensing agreements, intellectual property rights, and industrial R&D links and contracts of the center, as well as training the researchers in technology transfer topics and formulating projects.
He holds a PhD in Public Policy with a major in Science & Technology and a minor in Energy and Environmental Policy from Georgia Institute of Technology. He also has a M.Sc. degree in International Agribusiness from the University of Gottingen-Germany and a B.S in Agriculture Science. His research interests are in innovation, science & technology in emerging fields, such as nanotechnology, as well as energy policy and sustainability for the natural resource industries, mainly mining and energy. He has published multiple articles in prestigious journals and received several scholarships and honors, such as Fulbright and DAAD. He is fluent in English and Spanish. He is Mentor to technology based startup companies in Chile.
Gonzalo Montes-Atenas

Gonzalo Montes-Atenas es Ingeniero Civil Químico de la Universidad de Chile. Obtuvo un Ph.D. en Geociencias en el Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine (INPL), Francia (2004). Actualmente es director del Departamento de Ingeniería de Minas. El área de investigación incluye todo lo relativo a química y física de superficies. Ha trabajado en la industria de surfactantes en Chile. Realizó 2 postdoctorados en The University of Manchester, Inglaterra (2006-2008) en el área de espumas y operación de reactores nucleares. Trabajó también en Julius Kruttschitts Mineral Research Centre (JKMRC), Australia, en el área de flotación, participando en numerosas campañas a sitios mineros dentro y fuera de Australia. Autor y co-autor de publicaciones científicas en revistas nacionales, internacionales y congresos.

Enrique is the Regional Technology Manager in Glencore Copper and is responsible for the Studies and Implementation of Transformational Technology such as Autonomy, Mine Electrification, Next Generation Ore Control and Vehicle Interaction, defining the strategy and roadmap for the group across Copper Assets.
Enrique is Chilean and has worked in the mining industry both domestically and internationally, including assignments to Australia and the US. He has held roles in Operations, Projects and Technology, including the implementation of 5 Autonomy projects and the operations of an AHS program. Enrique is now focused in 2 key challenges: Autonomy and Decarbonization.

Carlos Cotera Avellaneda – CIP 187120 is the General Manager of Compañía Minera Antapaccay S. A., great mining company, copper concentrate producer, which has its operations in the southern region of Peru, being responsible of 8% of the national copper production in 2021.
Carlos is a mining engineer, with wide experience leading important mining-metalurgical complexes at the national and international levels, with focus on developing the maximum potential of people and mining assets under his responsibility, permanently looking for the construction of sustainable mining businesses.
